n [Anti-Marketing Tip] Don’t Focus Obsessively on Deals, Discounts, and Coupons | The Anti-Marketing Manifesto

I see many home-based business owners offering discounts as their primary strategy to gain new customers. “Save 20% on this,” “save X number of dollars on that”…on and on.

Or worse, they focus on how “affordable” their products are…as if this will attract new customers like flies to shit.

This isn’t right. In fact, this is an abnormal, dysfunctional way to promote your business.

Why? Because deals, discounts, and coupons generally go against the very nature of the universe — which is abundance.

Think about the following phrase:

“God didn’t create the Grand Canyon using a coupon.”

If you think about this statement, it’s really eye-opening. Did your parents need a coupon to create you? Does a tree need a coupon to grow leaves? Did God need a coupon to create ANYTHING in the universe? No…that’s absurd.

Life doesn’t need coupons. The Universe doesn’t need discounts. So why the fuck would we as humans — who were designed in the image of God — need to use coupons? We don’t.

Clipping coupons is a middle class behavior that plays into the idea of “lack.” It is actually a sinful act, because it’s not accurate. It assumes we’re lacking something (money), and that we’re incapable of getting the money to pay for something.

Clipping coupons and hunting for “deals” are middle class activities. Show me a wealthy person wasting their precious life searching for deals…you won’t find a single one.

But you WILL find countless broke people clipping coupons.

I first heard the statement, “God didn’t create the Grand Canyon using a coupon,” from David Neagle. He created the “Miracle of Money” program, which obliterates middle-class thinking — AKA the kind of thinking responsible for keeping people in poverty.

As Neagle mentions, “middle class thinking” involves all the B.S. thoughts and beliefs that keep a person broke or seriously underperforming financially. (This includes worrying about money, worrying about losing money, being a slave in how you make money, or living paycheck to paycheck.)

Poverty is a spiritual disease, and it’s the most widely accepted, condoned, and promoted form of slavery that humanity is still experiencing today. Hell, even Mother Teresa promoted poverty. No wonder she thought God had abandoned her! Because poverty doesn’t fit with the beautiful, successful, wealthy, happy, healthy beings that we were designed to be!

Companies that push “deals” and “coupons” too frequently are encouraging middle class thinking. In other words, they’re encouraging and enabling the masses to stay in poverty.

This goes directly against what God designed us to do. Remember when I mentioned bad karma? Go against the universe AKA the Source of everything (AKA “God”) and you’re fucked.

Like sugar feeding the growth of cancer, middle class thinking is the “fuel” that keeps people stuck in poverty.

So don’t be “middle class” in your business or marketing. Be first class. Encourage the masses to be first class. EVERYONE can be first class, and it boils down to a simple fucking choice to do so…followed by massive amounts of education to un-do all the programming and bullshit that got learned in the first place.

I’m not saying to NEVER offer discounts or promotions. But consider offering them no more than 20% of the time. In other words, use the 80/20 principle. Your products are valuable enough to charge people full price for them, at least 80% of the time. Own that. Never apologize for that.

Discounts aren’t always bad. I purchased David Neagle’s “Miracle of Money” program during a Cyber Monday sale, because I thought, “Why not?” It was the first program of his that I ever purchased…and I went on to purchase additional programs from him. But I was never waiting around for a sale to happen.

If you offer special deals, do it only 20% of the time (or less). That’s the correct way to do business.

That’s aligned with the universal law of abundance.

God’s biggest and best vision for our lives doesn’t involve us clipping a coupon or wasting our time hunting for deals or sales. We have more important work to be doing on this planet.

This is true whether you’re an atheist, a fake Christian, a real Christian, spiritual but not religious (like myself), or a worshipper of green polka dots.

Business owners who successfully wrap their minds around this idea will profit…and the universe will REWARD them greatly for doing the right thing.
