n When Life Hands You a Psychopath | The Anti-Marketing Manifesto

Sometimes I think I was put on this earth to witness darkness, precisely so I could understand what health, light, and love are NOT.

That contrast provides razor-sharp understanding of each.

When you know exactly what’s healthy, versus what’s unhealthy, you have clarity. And clarity is power.

I used to be very drawn to darkness — i.e., disturbed individuals doing extremely unhealthy and destructive things.

In fact, the very first project in my business (back in 2006) was researching the Columbine killers. I was a research assistant for Dave Cullen, my very first client, and my work helped him create the New York Times bestselling book, Columbine.

Just recently, I learned that one of the Columbine killers’ mothers had made her first public appearance in 17 years… Sue Klebold, mother of Dylan Klebold.

In 2016 she did some interviews with major media… in which she talks about what it was like coming to terms with the fact that her son became a mass murderer.

I had mixed emotions while listening to her speak.

She had no idea what her son (and his friend) were planning… and this lack of awareness may very well have contributed to the Columbine shooting.

Is it our responsibility to be aware?

Yes… but on the flip side, we choose our level of awareness.

We can choose to be aware of darkness — and spend our entire lives bumbling about in the dark — or we can choose to be aware of Truth, and live in the light, while helping others do the same.

Plato said, “We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light.”

Most people would rather live in darkness, because it feels “safe” to them.

This is the enemy we’re up against.

On that note, I’m so grateful to be serving clients who cling to Truth…and are living in the light! Never give up in doing the right thing!

P.S. For an inspiring example of how Truth always prevails — see John Schilling’s incredible book, Undercover: How I Went from Company Man to FBI Spy – and Exposed the Worst Healthcare Fraud in U.S. History.

In the 1990s he blew the whistle on his fraudulent employer, and helped the U.S. government recover billions of dollars in stolen Medicare funds. Schilling demonstrated an unshakable sense of ethics. If there were ever an example of someone “doing the right thing,” it’s him! He should be studied by all. If you want a copy of Schilling’s book, email me your addy, and I’d be happy to ship one out to you via Amazon Prime, on my dime! Happy Thanksgiving!
