n “If you play with snakes, you get bit” | The Anti-Marketing Manifesto

On our hike this weekend, we saw a rattlesnake.

Several other hikers stopped to look at it, keeping their distance. I heard a dog got bit.

Here in Colorado, snakes can come out in the warm weather…

Here in SOCIETY, “snakes” are everywhere. But they may be disguised.

They’re disguised as “nice,” “helpful,” “experts,” “successful,” etc.

Think: credit card companies, predatory marketers, lenders, chemical companies, Big Pharma, PayPal, Fundbox, etc.

These snakes don’t enrich your life… they take away from it… a little bit at a time, so you don’t notice.

But in the moment, they may seem like a “savior.”

Play with snakes, and you’ll get bitten.

It’s a hard lesson every human has to learn on their own timeline, in their own way.

What’s interesting is, this coronavirus has shown people’s true colors.

It’s revealed the snakes!

It’s like shit got magnified by 10x…

I saw a ton of businesses and “consultants” jumping on the “government assistance” bandwagon.

They made all their content around fear-based ideas… encouraging everyone to snatch up “funds” from those programs.

Snakes.

I sat back and watched this bizarre shit-show unfold… and refused to participate.

I kept working.

I curbed my spending (but I was already doing that anyway).

I ignored all fear-based messages.

The snakes don’t want you to know the truth:

When you get down to it, a “lack of funds” isn’t anyone’s core problem in business. Their character is their problem.

Their habits are the problem.

The way they’re using their imagination and thinking is the problem.

Wasn’t this fascinating? You could see right through, whether someone’s business model has been “snake-like” this whole time…

Siphoning money away from people, while robbing some aspect of their freedom.

Hiding, then coming out to bite whoever was too close.

Debt is a snake, period.

If you call it a “forgivable loan,” it’s still debt. (The phrase “forgivable loan” is predatory marketing.)

It will come back to bite you.

I tackle predatory lenders in my forthcoming book! (among many other predatory marketers).

My book will inspire everyone to say #FuckPredatoryMarketing.

But more importantly… it will inspire biz owners to wake up and start bringing their true selves into their business!

I get my book cover mockups back in a week!!! Exciting times.
