n The REAL Meaning of Thanksgiving | The Anti-Marketing Manifesto

Anyone can say “Thanks” for something that already happened in the past.

But it takes real character to say “Thanks” for something that hasn’t happened it.

I learned a long time ago that gratitude isn’t about being grateful for what you already have (that’s easy)… it’s about giving thanks for what’s on the way.

I’ve already had an amazing year so far in 2017. But you know what? It’s already past. It’s gone. Big deal if I say “Thanks” for it.

I’m grateful for the kick-ass, satisfying, successful experiences that I’ll be having in 2018.

I’m grateful for all the NEW projects I’ll be doing in 2018, all the clients I’ll be working with, and all the amazingly positive changes our anti-marketing content will create for readers all over the world.

What are you grateful for?

I’m also grateful for my upcoming trip to Mexico in a few weeks. My boyfriend Dan and I are headed there (it’s our 4th travel together this year as a couple!)… this time we’ll be in a romantic setting, so we can re-charge and unwind.

It’ll be my first time traveling outside the country, and I’m excited about it — while also being mindful not to accept any ideas from people about “what could go wrong.”

Thanks, Universe, for an exciting fun-filled, successful trip. (Yes, I am thanking the Universe before the trip has happened!)

I’m also thanking the Universe for everything going smoothly on that trip, even though it will be “Mercury Retrograde,” etc. (I’ve gotten really good at “bypassing” all of astrology’s so-called bad periods.)

Everything operates smoothly in my world, even when there are bumps.

That’s something I’ve trained myself to be thankful for, always.

On my recent trip to North Hollywood, my return flight was scheduled for 12:00 pm…and I saw that it was delayed two hours. I showed up on time to the airport anyway… and United placed me on their 9:00 am flight, which was delayed to 12:00 pm.

Perfect! I got home right on time.

You get what you’re grateful for. Saying “thanks” is like making a declaration of what’s to come.

That’s the real meaning of Thanksgiving!
