n Marketing ‘Tactics’ Don’t Work if You Hide | The Anti-Marketing Manifesto

These days, people are missing one obvious truth in business:

YOU are what sells your product best.

Not a marketing tactic, not an ad, not other people (i.e., affiliates), but YOU…

Your energy, your health, your personality, your attitude, the degree to which you’re living your best life, the degree to which you’re sharing the details your life with others… this is what sells your product more than anything else.

This is what bonds customers to you, human to human.

Since publishing The Anti-Marketing Manifesto back in October, I’ve received a lot of emails from people coming to me saying, “Michelle, I love your book! I need help with growing my business…”

I say look, you gotta be willing to share YOU with your audience. That’s all that matters.

And not just “you,” but your BEST you. If you’re not currently living as your best… are you willing to develop yourself and your character?

If someone isn’t willing to bare their heart and soul on the page, I can’t really work with them. It’s too many uphill battles, as 99% of their life is about mitigating their desire to “hide.”

Customers are looking for role models who can MEI them on all levels: motivate, educate, inspire. All three. Not just one or two… but all three.

You gotta offer people the total package.

Symbolically, MEI represents body, mind, and soul.

How are your body, mind, and soul? Are you sharing pics, stories, etc., showing these things?

I mean sharing pics, videos, and stories that show your health… your passions… your favorite sports or physical activities… AND your educational material… AND your life experiences that light you up.

As multidimensional, holistic beings, people need all 3 of these to really live a complete life.

As an example, below is a pic of my desk in my home office.

It tells a lot about me: I love animals, I love sparkly, fun notebooks, and I write so damn much, I destroy my keyboards.

But even that pic is outdated… since I took it over a month ago, I bought a new Mac laptop and already have different notebooks. Life is always changing.

The freshness of your sharing matters. Otherwise it gets stale.

The idea is, as a business owner, you’re giving people snapshots of your life, while teaching them about the principles of your business.

This is what makes people feel connected with you.

Not everyone will vibe with you… you’re only looking for the ones who ARE.

You can’t share your entire life with everybody… nor should you… but share enough to make a difference!!

In a world that seeks to obliterate human connection through the fakest means possible… real connection is everything!
