n Dance is My Happy Place! | The Anti-Marketing Manifesto

Happy Friday!

This is a pic of me after practicing dance for one hour.

You can’t tell, but I’m actually “dead” in this pic.

(Sore neck muscles, sore thighs, arms can barely move. Hot and dying under my sweatshirt designed to make my dance video slightly “cooler.”)

Dance refreshes my soul and spirit…making the “me” of yesterday die, to make way for a new “me” for today.

In other words… it kicks my ass! and I love it.

Time vanishes as I put all of my mental, physical, spiritual, and emotional focus into one thing: mastering the choreography.

Mastering the tiny micro-movements and nuances that matter to no one but those who love to dance.

Today, four years after taking my first hip class, I can actually discern those micro-movements and nuances of a choreography that I couldn’t “see” before.

Those small details light me up!!!

I’m fascinated by them.

As a beginner, my eyes weren’t trained to see them.

Now I can spot them. I’m teaching myself to do them.

(If you’re curious, I’m currently practicing “The Box” choreography by Phil Wright. Click that link, or watch below, and you’ll see a compilation of several groups of dancers doing the same choreo in their own unique style. Phil is in the first group, in the center.)

So yea…this is what I do during my day, when I’m not writing or editing content!

Part of why I wrote “The Anti-Marketing Manifesto” was to help people build a successful business that gives them the freedom to do the PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES they love! Whether it’s dancing or something else!

Gross revenue metrics aren’t the only thing that matter — it’s what you do in your off hours and HOW you do it that matters.

It’s your quality of life that matters.

In fact, your workouts can be part of your “meaningful metrics,” a concept I write about in my forthcoming book.

This book is currently in production!! It is not available yet.

I will blast everyone with Amazon links in the fall when it’s finished being produced!!!!

I’ve found that the more I dance — and the less toxic news I watch/ consume/ listen to — the happier and more successful my day is.

And you?

The news just makes people hold on tightly to their former self (yesterday’s you) — living in the past, living in fear, stuck, and paralyzed.

That’s a BS narrative… one that will not grow a single business.

This has been email #28 of the 30-day email challenge.
