n Only 20% | The Anti-Marketing Manifesto

At the seminar I recently attended, David Neagle was talking about something Tony Robbins had shared….

More than 80% of the people attending a seminar won’t do anything with the information. They won’t use it to improve their lives.

They’ll just return home and everything will go back to the way it was before. Nothing will change.

This infuriated me.

I asked one of David’s coaches, “Then why bother? Why do people like Neagle and Tony Robbins even bother training people, if more than 80% aren’t going to use it?”

“Because the 20% who actually USE it go on to make massive changes in their lives, and that’s what makes it worth it.”

Good answer.

Looking back, my own experience reflects this. Out of all the clients I’ve ever worked with since 2007, less than 20% of them really maximized my writing and did extraordinary things with it.

The rest failed. They quit. They went out of business. They gave up. Some even blamed ME!

…But the 20% who maximized MY WRITING did, and continue to do, seriously remarkable things.

I realized I was getting discouraged about the 80% who failed… as if it was my fault. As if their choice to fail somehow meant I was deficient in my own abilities. But that’s not true.

You can put forth your best work every single day — and there will still be people who “fail” to get it. That’s not your problem, nor should it stop you from putting your best work out there.

Hearing that less than 20% of people who attend David Neagle and Tony Robbins seminars do anything with the info… was kind of reaffirming.

It just speaks to how resistant humans are to living their best lives.

That shouldn’t stop YOU from doing your best.

For the average person, it takes a ton of repetition before they’ll actually learn something.

They need to hear the same message over and over again, until it sinks in. (That’s why sending plentiful emails to your list is crucial!)

Some people can hear a message once and immediately “get it” and take action on it. But they’re rare.

Don’t let the 80% of failures stop you from serving those who are highly motivated.

My sales funnels are designed to put you in front of the 20%.

Anti-Marketing Manifesto

P.S. For the 80% who are little slower and need more repetition, my email writing packages are the solution.

Email writing is about sending the SAME DAMN MESSAGE over and over again, wrapped in different words and different stories, so it seems new. The way I do it, it’s impossible to get ever get bored with it.
